The firm was founded by Toronto startup, Internet and technology lawyer John Wires, who comes from a corporate commercial litigation background. John has appeared as counsel in the Ontario Superior Court, the Ontario Court of Appeal and private arbitrations. He graduated from law school with first class honours, specializing in both international trade and corporate Law.

As a business lawyer with a focus on internet and technology companies, John advises a broad range of different clients, from computer hardware companies and software developers to e-commerce businesses. John works with both established companies and start-ups, operating in or selling their products or online services to Canadians. 

John has been covered in the Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, CBC News, TechVibes and the Canadian Bar Association’s National Magazine. He has also been a guest lecturer at Ryerson University, Communitech in Waterloo, the Canadian Bar Association’s national conference and the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development. He is a former NCAA D1 and Ontario Hockey League player who enjoys sports, running and camping in the backcountry.
