The winner of Startup Weekend Maker Edition will go on to compete in the Global Startup Battle, fighting it out with other startups from around the globe for a chance to win an incredible pack of prizes and some serious exposure for their startup.

If that wasn’t exciting enough, GE will be helping out with the event as well, bringing in industrial design experts to help teams succeed. John Wires is a Toronto business lawyer who comes from a corporate litigation background.
